.This is the story of a band whose tragic legacy could never have been predicted. Possessed were born out the thriving underground West Midlands Rock & Blues scene of the mid to late 60s. This was a scene in which band- leader, Vernon Pereira, had been a key figure. The band were formed in late 1969 when Vernon teamed up (after a spell playing next to Robert Plant in The Band Of Joy) with Mick Reeves, who had been playing in (amongst other bands) Sugarstack with Al Atkins. This was the band that would eventually evolve into being the first incarnation of Judas Priest. Exploration was originally intended for releases in 1971. Due to various reasons the album never saw the light of day. The band were finally on the verge of signing a major deal, when tragedy struck. Whilst returning home from a gig in 1976, the band's van drove into a stationary tanker, taking the lives of three band members."

Ingrid Pitt, who survived a Nazi concentration camp and dodged Communist police to become one of Britain's best-known horror stars, died Tuesday, today. She was 73.

OK OK ...another hells headbangers release. This is hot right now, (yeah i just said hot, i wont say that again) because it hasn't even been officially released, but the headbangers over at HELLS are selling this one advance right now! Once again Like ive said, The vocals are really raw and not for the FAINT! GodDamnit this band kills! always have but I'm really diggin the newer material. you can listen to a short sample of the album streaming here but don't make any judgments by listening to the 45 some seconds you get to hear there. NO ONE sounds like INQUISITION true black metal!

My favorite Black Metal right now... very reminiscent of the early 90's movement going on overseas... The vocals may turn some people off because of the lack of growling which i think sounds even more brutal if you do it the right way and tastefully.Very different and evil as fuck!!! This release (remastered version) especially,  is hypnotic, spacey, atmospheric and heavy. Personally I hear a lot of doomy passages involved in this album.

There is virtually nothing that needs to be said regarding the tremendous importance of the video footage collected on this DVD. For the first time, fans of VON can see the imposing power of their performance. Very few VON fans ever had the opportunity to see this band in a live setting. Their live performance, however, is an integral part of the essence of VON. In the same way that VON’s music was simple but effective, the band’s live image was similarly minimal but calculated. This group rules... I'm not a giant drone fan but these guys are soo dark and evil. Bong are more Psychedelic, and trance-like but extremely heavy at the same time! Very very limited cassette tape that is a live recording at the Samhain Festival. Most of Bong's recording come from bootlegs of live recording so this is nothing new from them. But this tape is. Awesome layout. Hurry if you want one.

I have not heard this yet, but I assume that its nothing short of Fucking Heavy, I'll tell you that much. French Doom, relentlessly slow and evil. Check anything out by MONARCH. I believe this is the most recent recording (released March 2010) someone correct me if I'm wrong.

This is by far my favorite Cathedral album, In fact one of the first "newer" Doom bands to catch my attention. Amazing release full of evil riffing and Dorrian's voice was at its best! Those melodies still make the hair (which happens to be a lot at the moment) on my body stand up. If you havnt bought this release pick up this newer version, i dont think they fucked with the recording at all (which is a good thing) Hail Cathedral and the Forest of Equilibrium

Despite decades of evidence to the contrary, there is an often-voiced misconception that the environment of Southern California is not conducive to the creation of sincerely dark Black and Death Metal. Seen through the camera lens, the Los Angeles area appears too commercial, too sterile, and too artificial. Yet beneath the sun drenched skies, the entire geographical region seethes with the violence and sickness of a region that is awaiting the first outbreak of the impending apocalypse. Disease ridden and consumed by warfare, this area has already welcomed the coming dark age and radiates nihilistic decadence unlike any other geographic region in the world. This atmosphere is perfectly captured by the two bands on this split release, and the image it produces is of a world precariously balanced at the precipice of its own ruin. Importantly, the bands on this split have contributed extraordinarily strong material for this release. Perhaps it is because both bands are still in their primordial stages and therefore still feel the need to prove themselves with every release or perhaps it is because of the close relationship between the members of Nocturnal Blood and Sanguis Imperem; whatever the reason, the music presented here is the finest that both bands have yet unleashed. Although the foci of the bands may be distinct, there is an intensity that unifies the two and makes for a cohesive split LP. Nocturnal Blood is another outpouring of malefic energy by the same tormented mind that created Hate Kommand and Nuclear Desecration. This is among the most unsettling and atrocious Black Death that the U.S. has produced in years. Sanguis Imperem, members of which often perform as live session members for Nocturnal Blood (which is otherwise a one-man project) and behind Damon Bloodstorm for the Holocaust Wolves of the Apocalypse gigs in the United States, has been among the most promising U.S. death Metal acts since the release of their incredible mCD, “The Stagnation of Centuries.” With the tracks on this release, Sanguis Imperem continue to construct intricate and impenetrable walls of Death Metal terror in their uniquely martial style. Clearly drawing inspiration from Incantation and Disciples of Mockery, Sanguis Imperem integrate into their work a sense of strength and warfare that renders it among the most powerful in the current Death Metal scene.
